The Family Care Ministries was born in December of 1990 and it
was inspired by Mary Rodriguez because of what she went through
back in 1979.

In 1979 Mary was a single parent with a low paying job.  She
would struggle daily to go to work, pay her apartment, and car
payment, a babysitter plus pampers,  gas, utilities, and still have
money to put food on the table.  On her paydays, when
everything, that was a neccecity, was paid, she hardly had
enough to buy food for the week for her and her son.  On some
occasions, the water bill would not get paid or the light.  She
struggled so badly that she felt that there was no way out.

She met her now husband, Noe, at Frito-Lay.  They both worked
there and got to know each other.  Noe and Mary got married a
couple of years later.  Mary now felt hope in her life because she
didn't have to worry about the bills by herself anymore, but in 1982
Mary got sick, she had an incurable desease according to
medical statements, and she was sent home to die, she was
given two months to live, this is where she refused to die, and
challenged Jesus to give her a miracle, and He did heal her, but
she goes through a tough time recouperating, as The Lord
transforms her mind, her heart and makes her a whole new person
for the glory of God.

It wasn't until December of 1990, when Mary felt of the Lord to do
something great that year.  Noe had given her $200 to buy herself
something nice for Christmas, but she felt from the Lord to buy
other single mothers who were also low income families food for
their Christmas dinner.    So the next day, both of them went to the
grocery store and bought enough food for a Christmas dinner with
all of the trimmings for 15 families.  They put the groceries in
baskets and wrapped them up very nicely.  After each family was
picked by them then, they delivered the food basket themself.

Noe and Mary felt a sense of peace come over them, knowing
that God has called them to do this work for his glory.  And as they
were hearing great praise about how their giving blessed these
families, they learned first hand Matthew 19:21

Since Christmas of 1990, Noe and Mary assisted new families in
need for the Christmas Season.  They would save as much money
possible for the following year so that every year, they would do
the same blessing.  However, the need got bigger and bigger,
people started knocking at their door asking for groceries once a
week on a regular basis then, twice a week then, Noe and Mary
decided that they would hand out food from their patry Tuesdays
and Thursdays but even then the need got greater that Noe and
Mary started asking The Lord for guidance as to what else to do,
and without any money in their account, and two sponsors, one
who supported with them with $50.00 a month and the other a
pastor who supported them with $100 a month  they rented  a
warehouse for $1000 a month plus utilities.

The need to expand was so great, that Noe and Mary trembling
and not knowing how they were going to pay the monthly
lease, they  rented out a 3,300 sq.ft. building it was enough storage
space for food and clothing.  The Lord has truly blessed this
ministry because of their act of obedience, or is it because He's
their faithful provider?

An average of 200-500 families are helped per week with food,
clothes, and the numbers continue to rise. Some of the head of
household are reffered to a Temp-Agency for employment.
